Vietnam South Korea boost defense cooperation

The two sides discussed regional and world issues of mutual concern to strengthen understanding and trust. They agreed to cooperate further in national defense, settlement of war aftermaths, maritime security, UN peacekeeping,  and the fight against COVID-19. They will continue to work closely at multilateral forums and ASEAN-led initiatives.

After the talks, the South Korean Deputy Minister of Defense paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Defense Phan Van Giang. At the meeting General Giang urged the two sides to strengthen friendship and cooperation in various fields. Minster Giang said as the key frontline force in the fight against COVID-19, the Vietnam People’s Army is determined to do its utmost to contain the pandemic and ensure the safety of Vietnamese people and foreigners living in Vietnam.
