Vietnam strengthens enforcing IUU regulations

Minister Hoan made the request at a meeting with Binh Dinh authorities on Tuesday.

Binh Dinh now has more than 5,300 fishing vessels, of which 3,200 are designed for offshore use. Last year the province had 4,500 hectare of aquaculture, up 15% against the previous year.

Binh Dinh has strengthened the registration and licensing of fishing vessels, and instructed fishermen to update vessel data to the national database.
