The agenda will be submitted to the upcoming ASEAN Summit," Mr. Dung said:

ASEAN Secretary General Lim Jock Hoi said: "Vietnam has put the right emphasis on human resources development. Hopefully we can deliver an action plan as well as the declaration next year. The social benefit for the people is critically important and as you know people in ASEAN are aging and by 2030 I think 15% of our people will be 65 or above and they need social welfare support and health care. We also need to make sure that these people contribute actively to society."

Mr. Lim said he wants the declaration’s action plan on human resource development to closely connect to the ASEAN Labor Ministers’ Statement on the future of work recently approved in Singapore.
