(VOV) - The Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations on Tuesday held a congress in Ben Tre to review 2012 operations and plan for 2013 . Writer Do Kim Cuong, Standing Vice President of the Union, evaluated national and local achievements in literature and the arts last year.

The evaluation showed that the creativity of artists and their art products and performances have attracted public attention. In 2013, the union expects to strengthen its unity and accomplish the tasks assigned by the Party and Government. Moreover, the artists will continue to enhance their effective creativity to create a greater number of literature and art products with more content and art quality. The Union will also boost the cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in commissioning authors, launching contests encouraging compositions on Vietnam’s revolution and resistance from 1930 to 1945, and selecting works to be advertised on major national holidays in 2015.
