(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held on Saturday in Hanoi to mark the 24th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence Day on September 1st, and Vietnam’s 70th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd. Chairman of the Vietnam-Uzbekistan Friendship Association Luong Phan Cu highlighted the event’s significance, saying it is part of activities to promote bilateral friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan. A representative of Uzbekistan’s Consulate General in Vietnam hailed bilateral cooperation achievements over the past years, noting that Uzbekistan will organize more activities to tighten both countries’ solidarity and friendship.

On this occasion, the Vietnam-Uzbekistan Friendship Association held a photo exhibition featuring Uzbekistan and its people, and a writing contest entitled “Vietnam-Uzbekistan: beautiful memories and initiatives to boost bilateral cooperation.”
