(VOVworld) – The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has released its Human Development Report 2013 entitled “The rise of the South – Human Progress in a Diverse World”.  The report says that the number of female representatives in the National Assemblies of countries is increasing. Vietnam has the second highest women’s representation in the National Assembly in ASEAN. Vietnam ranks 3rd in ASEAN after Singapore and Malaysia, and 48th in the world in terms of gender equality, according to the UNDP report. Notably, UNDP says Rwanda, a poor and underdeveloped country in Central Africa, has the world’s highest proportion of female’s participation in the National Assembly, more than those of developed countries such as the US, Europe and some countries in Asia.
