Over the last 5 years, the Federation’s activities, programs and movements have been implemented more effectively providing a good environment for young people to grow and promoting a spirit of volunteerism to support socio-economic development and national defense. Many new and creative programs and activities have been carried out with wide spread.

Mr. Le Quoc Phong said: “The 4th Industrial Revolution and the strong development of science and technology and innovative start-ups are major trends that have had a strong impact on Vietnam’s development, bringing both opportunities and challenges. The next 5 years will require the Vietnam Youth Federation to renew its goals and mode of operation, to improve the quality and effectiveness of its movement and programs to enhance solidarity, to mobilize young people, to nurture their ambitions and aspirations, and to create an environment in which young people can contribute and grow.”

Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong, permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat told the opening session: “The movements and action programs of the Vietnam Youth Federation in the coming term must promote the creative spirit of youth, foster a love of homeland, provide role models for young people in the new era and encourage volunteerism and, at the same time, take care of their material and emotional life and protect their legitimate rights and interests.  To do so, the Federation's activities must be practical, so that young people will really trust and want to participate.”
