(VOVworld)- The Vietnam-Asia Silk Culture Festival 2016 will be held at Hoi An Silk Village on March 28-29 with the participation of traditional silk villages in Vietnam, fashion designers, and businesses from China, Japan, India, Myanmar and Thailand.
The event's organising committee said the festival, which is being held in Hoi An for the first time, will be a rendezvous for famous silk producers, traders and designers.
The festival will feature a series of programmes including the Asia Silk Alliance seminar, Business Matching of Asia Silk Enterprises and 100 tailor's brands of Hoi An, Hand-made Souvenir Expo, Vietnam-Asia silk fashion show and Hoi An Cuisine Fair.
Last year, Hoi An silk village represented Vietnam and joined the Asia Silk Alliance as one of seven founding members with responsibility for linking Vietnamese silk enterprises with the wider Asian silk community.
The silk village, located at 28 Nguyen Tat Thanh street in Hoi An, is a silk-weaving centre and living museum of the ancient trade in the central region.
The village was voted as the third best attraction in Hoi An by travel website TripAdvisor last year.
