President Barrow praised Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements and said he wants to boost cooperation with Vietnam in trade, investment, agriculture, healthcare, and education. He said Gambia wants to learn experience from Vietnam and wants more Vietnamese enterprises to do business in Gambia.

Mr. Barrow said Gambia and Vietnam should quickly hold negotiations on agreements to create a legal framework for their partnership and should support each other in international forums. He reiterated Gambia’s support for Vietnam to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.
