Vietnamese citizens protected in Covid-19 outbreak

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has carried numerous citizen protection measures in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Ministry has issued travel warnings and provided up-to-date information for Vietnamese expats as numerous countries and territories have suspended international flights and denied transit, leaving many Vietnamese passengers stranded at international airports.

Vietnamese people abroad are asked to restrict travel from and to Vietnam and strictly follow preventive measures recommended by local health officers. The Ministry suggested those who need to fly update requirements of the host countries and airlines for necessary documents certifying health conditions.

Vietnamese representative agencies overseas were ordered to work closely with local authorities, airlines, and airports, update them with Vietnam’s entry policy, and support stranded Vietnamese passengers. Vietnamese nationals can return to Vietnam without certificates issued by Vietnamese representative agencies in their host countries.

For further support, Vietnamese nationals should contact the citizen protection hotlines published on the official websites of Vietnamese representative agencies in the host countries or the hotline of the Foreign Ministry's Consular Department’s hotline at +84 981 84 84 84.
