(VOVWORLD) - Photos of Vietnam’s UNESCO-recognized cultural heritages and traditional dishes were displayed at an event called "Meet Vietnam in Newhaven", held on Tuesday in Newhaven, Sussex, England. Hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK, the event gave an overview of Vietnam’s land, history, culture, and people.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long talked about the time Ho Chi Minh, who later became President of Vietnam, lived and worked in London between 1913 and 1917. He once worked on the Dieppe-Newhaven ferry, which Mr. Long called “laying the foundation of Vietnam-UK relations”. The Ambassador said he believes the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Newhaven, and the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership in general, will flourish.
The two countries are planning a celebration of the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2023.
