(VOVworld) - Vietnamese embassies in many countries have marked the 70th founding anniversary of the diplomatic sector on August 28.

At a ceremony in the US, Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh called on all diplomatic staff to continue to inherit the diplomatic sector’s tradition to contribute to the national construction and defense, and raise Vietnam’s international image.

Celebration of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector’s 70^th anniversary were organized by the Vietnamese embassies in Japan, Sri Lanka, Norway, and Slovakia.

In an interview with a Vietnam News Agency’s correspondent in Paris, Ambassador Nguyen Ngoc Son said over the past seven decades the Vietnamese Embassy in France has developed a comprehensive economic diplomacy. He underlined the need to tap the strength of the 3,000 OV-community for the current development as they did in the past struggle for national independence.
