Vietnamese expert appointed to IAC of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program

(VOVWORLD) - Dr. Vu Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the UNESCO Memory of the World Committee of Asia and the Pacific, has been appointed a member of the International Advisory Committee of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program for the 2024-2028 term.

Huong, former Director of the State Records and Archives Department, has become the first Vietnamese expert selected as a member of the Committee.

The International Advisory Committee comprises 14 members from all continents directly appointed by the Director General of UNESCO after consulting with the National Committees of member countries.

One of the main functions of the Committee is to evaluate nomination dossiers for the List of World Documentary Heritage and advise the UNESCO Director General for approval.
