Vietnamese help Zimbabwe recover from Cyclone Idai

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Women Association in South Africa on Tuesday handed an emergency aid, including 2 tons of food, clothes, and school supplies, to representative of the Zimbabwean Embassy in Pretoria to help Zimbabwean people after the Cyclone Idai struck Zimbabwe in March.

Ms. Phuong Phuong Linh, Second Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in South Africa, said Vietnam shares the pain with Zimbabwe as Vietnam is frequently damaged by natural disasters, adding that she hopes Zimbabwe will effectively resolve the cyclone’s consequences and recover soon.

Ms. Jessica Hamadziripi, spouse of Zimbabwean Ambassador to South Africa said she is thankful for the aid and praised Vietnamese people, particularly the Vietnamese community in South Africa, for their noble deeds.
