Vietnamese, Indonesian finance ministries enhance cooperation

Vietnamese and Indonesian financial specialists have exchanged views on rising inflation, the role State-owned enterprises play in the economy and the best ways to restructure State-owned enterprises. Senior officials from the Vietnamese Finance Ministry, headed by Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Hieu,  began a visit to Indonesia on Thursday. Mr. Hieu discussed current market mechanisms in Vietnam that have been under State management for more than 20 years, and lessons learned in attempting to reform and improve the efficiency of State-owned enterprises, which are vital to the economy. The Deputy Minister said the government needs to manage the macro-economy, control inflation, and stabilize the market. Both sides praised the discussions as an opportunity to exchange experience in the management of finance and the implementation of macro-policies.
