Vietnamese, Lao Prime Ministers pledge to reinforce special relations

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on the sidelines of the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, on Thursday. Mr. Phuc said Vietnam will work together with Laos in resolving problems facing Vietnamese investment projects in Laos so they can quickly work to aid the host country’s development.

While speaking highly of Laos’s role as the Chair of ASEAN in 2016, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his hope that the two countries will collaborate closely with each other and with other ASEAN member states to ensure ASEAN has a single voice in regional issues, especially the East Sea issue.

PM Thongloun Sisoulith said the Lao government will work together with Vietnamese agencies to ensure Vietnamese-invested projects in Laos will be carried out efficiently.
