Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also cabled a congratulatory message to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue extended congratulations to Chairman of the upper house of India's parliament Jagdeep Dhankhar and Speaker of the lower house Om Birla.

On the occasion, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son sent his greetings to Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

India has become the fourth nation to successfully land a spacecraft on the moon after the United States, China and the former Soviet Union.

Rough terrain makes a south pole landing difficult, but the region's ice could supply fuel, oxygen and drinking water for future missions.
