Vietnamese students win prizes at Intel ISEF 2013

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese students won two fourth prizes at the 2013 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) - one in electricity and mechanics, and one in materials and biotechnology. The electricity and mechanics prize went to an automated household vegetable and fish raising system designed by students of the Le Hong Phong Gifted High School in Ho Chi Minh City. The materials and biotechnology prize was given to students of the Hanoi-Amsterdam Gifted High School in Hanoi for their study of the microfiltration property of eggshell membranes and its applicability to portable water filters.

The awardees were presented certificates of merit by the Ministry of Education and Traning and Creative Youth badges by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Intel ISEF 2013, held in the US, drew 1,600 contestants from 70 countries and territories around the world.
