Vietnamese swimmers perform well at Paralympics

(VOVworld) - Three Vietnamese swimmers have shown their good performance at the ongoing Paralympics 2016 in Brazil. At the final round of the women’s 100m breaststroke category on Monday, Trinh Thi Bich Nhu overcame her own achievement at the qualification round to rank sixth globally.

Meanwhile, at the finale of the men’s 100m breaststroke event, Nguyen Thanh Trung and Do Thanh Hai tried their best to rank sixth and seventh respectively. In the remaining competition days, swimmers Vo Thanh Tung, Nguyen Thanh Trung and Trinh Thi Bich Nhu will continue to compete in the registered categories.
The 22-member Vietnamese delegation to the Paralympic Rio 2016 in Brazil includes 11 athletes to compete in track and field, swimming and weightlifting.
After the fifth day of competition, Vietnam was placed 46th in the medal tally with one gold and one bronze.
