(VOVworld)- Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee session concluded in Luangprabang, Laos after the signing of many cooperative agreements in various fields. Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has his Laotian counterpart Somsavat Lengsavad co-chaired the meeting. The event took place as both countries celebrated the 50^th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 35 anniversary of the Cooperation and Friendship Treaty. In the first half of this year, Vietnam had 435 investment projects in Laos totaling 5.2 billion USD, while the two-way trade turnover reached 465 million USD and is expected to hit 1 billion dollars this year. Both sides agreed to promote practical cooperation for mutual development. The two government leaders witnessed the singing of various cooperation agreements in investment financing and mining industries.
