Vietnam’s confirmed Covid-19 cases total 148

(VOVWORLD) - The number of Covid-19 cases in Vietnam now totals 148. The Ministry of Health announced seven more cases Thursday morning, after seven were confirmed Wednesday evening.

Of the 14 patients who tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, 10 were placed in quarantine immediately upon their arrival in Vietnam, 1 is a Vietnamese doctor who contracted the virus while treating a Covid-19 patient at a hospital in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district, and 3 spent some time in the community before being tested. All 14 are being treated and are in stable health.

The Ministry of Health has recommended that people stay at home as much as possible to minimize the risk of infection. In particular, people over the age of 60 are advised to stay indoors all day because they are most at risk from the virus. People are also advised to notify local authorities and the police about anyone, regardless of nationality, who has not self-isolated since entering Vietnam on or after March 8. Localities are urged to take every precaution to contain the virus.
