PM Phuc, who is head of the National Committee for e-Government Development, said that ministries, sectors, and state-owned enterprises and corporations have done a good job of implementing tasks set by a government resolution on e-government.

The development of e-government has fundamentally changed the use of electronic documents in state agencies. All ministries, agencies, sectors, and localities have connected to the National e-Document Exchange Platform to send and receive electronic documents.

The proportion of dossiers handled online has increased from 72% in 2018 to 86.5% last year which is very close to the target of 90% set for 2020.

A digital Vietnamese database now contains more than 100,000 data sets and more than 10,000 multiple choice questions.

A digital mapping service, known as Vmap, launched last year,  has data on 24 million addresses and promises to be a useful tool for e-commerce and socio-economic application.
