On display are fruits, vegetables, aquatic products, processed food, beverages, and tropical spices, looking to attract French distributors, wholesalers, and importers.

Stéphane Layani, the Rungis CEO, praised the Vietnamese products, particularly the tropical fruits like lychees, blue dragons, and coconuts.

He said he thinks Vietnamese farm produce has a place in the markets of Europe but needs a major wholesale market like Rungis to introduce it to European consumers.

Rungis pledged to work with Hanoi to establish a market that meets European standards.
