The Chiem Hoa hydropower plant management board says that the plant’s first turbine will be generating electricity by the end of April. Located in Chiem Hoa District, Tuyen Quang province, the plant with a designed capacity of 48MW and 3 power generation stations is mainly funded by the International Trade and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company. This is Vietnam’s first hydropower plant that uses low water columns. To date, 90% of the 82 million USD plant has been completed and it is supposed to be finished in October. The Chiem Hoa hydropower plant project uses the EPC – Engineering, Procurement and Construction - bidding method.
