Vietnam's first level-2 field hospital returns home

(VOVWORLD) - The second group of Vietnamese peacekeeping forces from the Level-2 Field Hospital No. 1 arrived back at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Friday, fulfilling their mission in South Sudan.

So far, more than 60 officers and soldiers have returned to Vietnam, concluding their working trip in South Sudan. For nearly 14 months, the hospital provided treatment to around 2,000 patients, and operated 62 surgery cases.  Lieut. Colonel Bui Duc Thanh, Director of the Level-2 Field Hospital No. 1, said: “The hospital and its staff were highly appreciated by the host country and the UN. According to customers’ surveys, 97 to 100 percent of respondents show satisfaction to the medical treatment”.

The Level-2 Field Hospital No. 2 has been in Bentil, South Sudan to continue this mission.
