Vietnam’s foreign trade to exceed 500 billion USD in 2019

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s foreign trade is likely to surpass 500 billion USD this year, according to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai.

Total import-export turnover in January-November is estimated at more than 470 billion USD, despite sluggish global economy, he noted. He attributed the achievement to efforts to simplify administrative and investment procedures, free trade agreements, and improved logistics infrastructure. Vietnam ranked 39th among 160 surveyed countries in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) in 2018, up 25 places from two years ago, and rising to third place among ASEAN countries.
