(VOVworld)- The Xinhua news agency on Saturday reported that a luxury cruise ship, the Coconut Princess owned by the Hainan Maritime Transportation Joint Stock Company on Friday, set off a trial voyage from Sanya to Xisha Island in the Hoang Sa or Paracell archipelago. Bearing this in mind, a spokesperson for Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry Luong Thanh Nghi said that Vietnam reiterated its indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos. The move by China is illegal, seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty and runs counter to the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea. Mr. Nghi demanded that China ceases these acts and abides by the DOC and avoids complicating the situation in the East Sea.
