Vietnam’s lacquer paintings, poonah paper introduced to French

(VOVworld) – The first solo exhibition of painter Mai Dac Linh in Paris is featuring 5 large lacquer paintings and 8 poonah paintings. Linh uses a Western style to honor Vietnamese values of humanity and Buddhism. Entitled “Belief and Time”, his works were inspired by people’s ideas about belief, time, family, and Buddhism. The serenity of the lacquer paintings and the jubilation of the poonah paintings have been warmly welcomed by the French.
