Vote of confidence to be held at National Assembly session

(VOVworld) - National Assembly deputies have been asked to be cautious, objective, precise, and have a sense of justice when conducting a vote of confidence, said top legislator Nguyen Sinh Hung. He emphasized this in his report at National Assembly’s Friday session regarding votes of confidence for key officials elected or approved by the National Assembly.

He said law makers represent voters nationwide when they conduct the vote. This year, votes of confidence will be conducted first in the National Assembly, then in all sectors and at all levels. Hung said: "We have more grounds to conduct for this year’s vote of confidence thanks to evaluations of socio-economic achievements made since last year’s National Assembly meeting. We’ve seen progress in all legislative, executive, and judicial activities. The National Assembly approved the 2013 Constitution with a high consensus and issued a Resolution on implementing the Constitution nationwide. Socio-economic achievements create an impetus for us to fulfill our 2015 tasks. Progress has also been made in preventing crime, corruption, and wastefulness. Agencies are strictly abiding by a National Assembly resolution on this matter."

National Assembly deputies unanimously approved a list of 50 positions subject to the vote of confidence, including State President Nguyen Tan Sang, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Voting will be held on Saturday and the results will be announced the same day.
