Addressing the event, Voice of Vietnam President Nguyen The Ky underscored the extent of the impact of technology and social networks on media agencies and the public, adding that this is both challenge and opportunity.

Mr. Ky called on journalists to ensure accuracy, humanity,  and high social responsibility while demonstrating their political viewpoints, professional skills and work ethnics.

He said: “In the digital era, journalists should always be ready to do their job anytime and anywhere. In addition to covering breaking news in a prompt and accurate manner, it requires reporters to look for new, useful, and humane issues of public concern.”

According to Mr. Ky, “Reporters and editors should often change and refine their ways of working and thinking to present still more attractive  journalistic works  to the readership. In the era of digital communications, newspapers, radios and televisions are important tools to carry out the function of disseminating, educating, connecting, and sharing information and ideology on the internet and across new platforms like Facebook and Twitter.”
