Weightlifter Pham Thi Hong Thanh sets three SEA Games records

(VOVWORLD) -The Women's 64 kg weightlifting competition on Saturday became an exciting race as the female athletes consecutively broke the SEA Games record.

Eventually, Vietnamese female weightlifter Pham Thi Hong Thanh broke all three SEA Games records in snatch, clean and jerk, and total lift, and won one more gold medal for Vietnamese weightlifting.

Thanh lifted a total of 230kg-104kg in snatch, and 126kg in clean and jerk, 6kg and 2kg higher than the old records, respectively. Her total lifting was far higher than the old SEA Games record of 214 kg.

Thanh successfully defended the SEA Games gold medal and set SEA Games records although in this year's Games, she faced formidable rivals: Tsabitha Alfiah Ramadani of Indonesia and Quinilitan Ando Elreen Ann of the Philippines.
