WHO to spend 900,000 USD to help North Korea's fight against coronavirus

(VOVWORLD) - The World Health Organization will spend 900,000 USD to support North Korea's efforts to prevent the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Wednesday.

Earlier, WHO and other international organizations including Doctor Without Borders and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) delivered medical equipment and SARS-CoV-2 test kits to North Korea.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said late February Russia donated 1,500 coronavirus test kits  at the request of Pyongyang. 

North Korea says it has reported no coronavirus case untill now.
