The “STEM parent workshop” provides Vietnamese parents more knowledge about the teaching approach and help them build STEM education environment at home. Through STEM, students develop key skills, including problem solving, creativity, critical analysis, teamwork, independent thinking, initiative, communication, and digital literacy. American STEM expert Dr. Diana Wehrell Grabowski said: “Children are born natural scientists. They’re curious about the world around them. So the role of the parents they have the perfect opportunity to introduce to young children to STEM. And they can do that through using very simple affordable tools such as microscopes, lens, rulers, tape measures, levels, building blocs. They don’t need to spend a lot of money. Parents are accessible with tools for the child to use, have STEM literature for the child to read, and take the child to STEM-based events, like museums, expos, help the child be involved in after-school STEM clubs, math and science clubs.”

Ms. Le Thi Thu Huyen, Director General of STEAMe Garten, the pioneer in implementing STEM education in Vietnamese preschool teaching, said: “We want parents to fully understand STEM as they play an important role in helping their kids learn. If parents can provide children with studying equipment, space, and interaction, the children can greatly improve their intellectual development.”
