World media analyze Vietnam’s key to success in containing COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been praised by world media, according to Russia’s Sputnik radio.

In its weekly “Vietnam on international media” segment, Sputnik listed a  number of articles analyzing Vietnam’s keys to success in containing the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Sputnik, Vietnam's implementation of social distancing and having no new cases for a week have been highlighted in many articles. 

The US Los Angeles Times news website says Vietnam offers a rare and surprising bright spot in the COVID-19 pandemic.  Meanwhile Marketplace.org noted that Vietnam, with an intrusive security apparatus, is informed promptly of any possible infections, and enforces quarantine, even on entire districts, to stop them from spreading.

The Russian website kommersant.ru, in a recent article, said Vietnam’s “secret” is “risk level classification”, explaining that the committee has classified all the 63 cities and provinces into high, medium and low risk categories. Social distancing measures have been applied based on these classifications, the article said. It praised the Party leadership in the combat saying the Party has called on the public to stay united and view the fight against the pandemic like a fight against an enemy.
