WWF commends Vietnam’s biodiversity conservation
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam is a leading country in biodiversity preservation in Asia-Pacific, Director General of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) International Marco Lambertini has said.

Speaking at an event on preserving Vietnam’s natural heritage, held on the sidelines of the ongoing 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in Canada, Lambertini noted that Vietnam has taken drastic actions to fulfill international biodiversity commitments.
The WWF will continue its close coordination with the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) during the implementation of the national biodiversity targets.

MoNRE Deputy Minister Vo Tuan Nhan briefed the participants on outstanding biodiversity values of Vietnam, as well as the country’s contributions to achieving global biodiversity targets.
He also stressed the significance of expanding partnerships, including public-private partnership, to the realisation of the National Biodiversity Strategy by 2030 with a vision towards 2050.
In a pre-recorded speech, Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed Vietnam’s strong support and commitment to materialising international initiatives and commitments in a responsible manner.
