After repeated failures, Doctor Thy succeeded in developing the GCLP-BLOOD software, which solves many of the problems of blood transfusion.

“My software has been in operation for 1 year. I want to share it with my colleagues so that more patients will benefit from it,” said Thy.

Can Tho General Hospital was the first in the Mekong Delta to use Ms. Thy’s software. Doctor Nguyen Thi Truc Le at Long An General Hospital, said: “Thy’s software is now used at other hospitals in the area, including Long An and Vinh Long General Hospital.  It eliminates some of the problems of the old method of blood transfusion”.

Ms. Pham Thanh Phong, Deputy Head of Can Tho General Hospital, said the software increases the productivity and capacity of blood transfusion, has a warning system to detect expired blood, and traces the blood’s origin.

“A problem occurring during blood transfusion can cause death. This fact prompted Hematology-Blood Transfusion Department to develop software to eliminate some of the problems. Ms. Thy’s software has been used since 2018 and has proved effective,” said Phong.

Ms. Minh Thy was awarded the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for her valuable contribution.
