underlines the respect soldiers had for Uncle Ho while they marched along the Truong Son range at night. The song’s lyrics are profound and meaningful and imbued with the Vietnamese people’s patriotism, and their heroic fighting spirit. I have taken part in many concerts about President Ho Chi Minh but this is the first time I have had a chance to perform in Hanoi as a token of my gratitude to Uncle Ho. Each time, I take part in these kinds of concerts, I’m very moved’.
Songs about the late President are widespread and have become familiar melodies in the soul of every Vietnamese person. Singer Lan Anh is a lecturer at the Vietnam Academy of Music ‘I’m lucky to be able to take part in this concert although I’ve participated in lots of others about President. I think these such songs will live forever in the country’s history and will be welcomed by everyone’.
The long lasting value of the songs has left a deep impression on people of all ages, professions , and social positions. Nguyen Van Tien Dung from Hanoi is an example. He says ‘The performance was interesting and touching. Through programs like this, we find that Uncle Ho still lives in the hearts of all Vietnamese people’.
Children dancing brought the show to an end after a series of songs about President Ho Chi Minh. The children’s innocence and purity while performing was their gift to Uncle Ho.
