U19 Vietnam ranks second in group A after defeating Thailand trailing U19 North Korea on goals. Vietnam will play North Korea on Wednesday for the top spot.

Speaking to reporters before the match, the U19 North Korea coach said Vietnam is a strong team.

“We believe Vietnam is one of the strongest teams in Asia. We will deploy our best tactics for this game. My players are all ready for the game,” said coach Choi Ri.

Coach Ijiri Akira and his Vietnamese players are in high spirits after thrashing Thailand. The Japanese coach is confident of a good outcome today.

“We are happy with our victory over Thailand. But there are two matches ahead. The team should focus on doing their best. This match against North Korea will be like the opening match and we will do the same thing we did in the Thailand game.”

Akira praised his players: “My players didn’t have much experience before entering this tournament. That was obvious in the Vietnam-Thailand match. However, since I took this job, I have seen them improve day by day. I hope they will continue to improve after beating Thailand.

The match between U19 Vietnam and U19 North Korea will kick off at 4:00 PM.
