VFF sets time for signing contract with Park Hang-seo

(VOVWORLD) -Head coach Park Hang-seo will renew his contract with Vietnam after the Vietnam vs Thailand World Cup 2022 qualifier on November 19.

Many in Vietnam are eager that Vietnam should extend its contract with the South Korean football coach to ensure the development of Vietnam’s national team.

Park and the VFF, according to the Thanh Nien newspaper, have set the signing date. Park officially sign the new contract soon after the Vietnam vs Thailand match ends on November 19 and before the opening of the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines on November 25.

The new contract terms are in line with  the Vietnam Football Development Strategy approved by the Government.  Coach Park Hang-seo will be tasked with bringing the Vietnam national team into the top 10 in Asia and helping U23 Vietnam to win a ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the final of the SEA Games 31.

"The top priority of the negotiation process is to improve Vietnamese football and elevate Vietnamese football in the international arena. So Park’s tasks  will be difficult, but worthy of his grey matter, ability, qualifications, and aspirations. Money is an important consideration for both parties, but it is not first priority,” said a VFF leader.

The new contract will be valid for three years, one year longer than the current contract. If he sticks with Vietnam three more years, Park’s tenure as coach will be the longest ever with the Vietnam national team.
