“We didn’t score many but we won Vietnam”, says Thailand’s coach
(VOVWORLD) - Coach of Thailand’s Futsal made the confident statement at the press conference after Thailand won 2-0 victory over Vietnam in the AFF Futsal Championship 2019 semis.
Futsal Vietnam, stands behind Indonesia due to having less goals, had to encounter Thailand in the semis.
Miguel Rodrigo team played quite well in the first half yet they failed to convert the chances.
Futsal Vietnam lost their concentration creating opportunities for the Thai rival to net 2 goals in 20 seconds.
At the press conference, Jose Mendez said: “Thailand performed better. We dominated and forced our rival to follow our game. We should have scored more goals in the second half. Thailand didn’t score many but we won.”
“We dominated the game while Vietnam performed impressively in the first 4-5 minutes. Our players had better ball possession. We scored and won,” added Jose Mendez .
Futsal Vietnam will enter the third-place match against Myanmar, who lost 2-3 to Indonesia earlier.
This will be the last chance for Vietnam to win the ticket to the AFC Futsal Championship 2020 finals.
