Taking place until the end of this month, the festival, which has the theme "Arabica, Son La Coffee - flavors of the northwest mountains and forests" will feature a coffee gala, a farmers’ competition, the inauguration of investment projects in the coffee sector and Cascara tea production lines in Mai Son district, and a conference on coffee trade connections.

Addressing the opening of the festival, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen huu Dong said: "With a range of diverse activities at the first Son La Coffee Festival, Son La province wishes to introduce, promote and provide more information about Son La Arabica coffee products to domestic and foreign businesses and consumers, attract businesses to invest in processing plants, and diversify coffee products to increase product value. The festival will help promote the production, processing, consumption and export of agricultural products of Son La province in general and Arabica coffee products in particular."

The same day, Chairman Hue visited President Ho Chi Minh Temple in Son La city.

On Saturday, Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue visited coffee growers in Son La city and cut the ribbon to inaugurate a production line at the Son La Coffee Processing Factory in Mai Son district.
