Coming to Vietnam for the first time in the early 1990s, Alain Fontenas immediately impressed with Vietnam’s landscape, cuisine and people. Since then, he has traveled to Vietnam for 8 times. For him, Vietnam is an endless inspiration for his paintings: “Vietnam has experienced fast changes, which are clearly reflected in people’s daily lives and its infrastructure. When I first came to Vietnam in 1990, your country was still in difficulty but now things have changed. Roads are much better and many households own a car”.
Indonesian parliamentarian Rahayu Saraswati was surprised at Vietnam’s socio-economic development when she first came to Vietnam in March to attend the 132nd General Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union in Hanoi. Ms. Rahayu Saraswati said Vietnam is showing its development potential and has become an attractive destination to foreign investors: “Vietnam has done spectacular things. Coming to Vietnam, I have witnessed your robust development especially in economics which has attracted a lot of investors. Vietnam is enjoying several opportunities with its open policies and attractive investment environment. Many Indonesian enterprises are seeking for business opportunities in Vietnam”.
