(VOVworld) - National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong has highlighted the increasing importance of young people’s engagement in National Assembly activities and elective agencies. At a Friday ceremony in Hanoi to establish a group of young parliamentarians for the upcoming 13^th National Assembly, Ms. Phong hailed the youth’s participation in legislative works, saying they represent young people nationwide contributing to decision-making on important national issues.

She said the group will play as a forum for young parliamentarians to meet and exchange their experiences regarding participation in National Assembly activities to discuss youth-related issues. Ms. Phong asked the group to complete its organizational structure and set out working agenda as soon as possible to ensure its effective operation.
