VOV’s Deputy General Director, Vu Hai, spoke at the meeting

VOV’s Deputy General Director, Vu Hai, said Vietnam’s radio has received a lot of attention from the government in terms of investment policies, human resources, and infrastructure. Radio in Vietnam has developed towards modern technology, professional production, and diversified programs to meet the information demands of Vietnamese and foreigners.
"By applying modern technology, Vietnam’s radio signal now covers 99% of residential areas and contributed positively to national socio-economic development and has improved people’s spiritual lives, especially people in remote, isolated regions, islands, and ethnic communities. It has been a reliable means of communications in times of difficulty such as natural disasters." Hai said.

At the meeting, the participants agreed that radio has changed rapidly, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. Radio stations are facing challenges in identifying their strategic issues and improving their content and services to attract the audience. They also said that the challenges could be development opportunities for radio broadcasting.
