Activities to mark Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air victory
(VOV) – A delegation of Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) leaders on Saturday laid floral tributes at the mausoleum of the late President Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi to commemorate 1972 Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu air battle victory.
Earlier on Friday, State President Truong Tan Sang met with veterans of the air defence force. On the same day, the command of the air defence force organized an exchange program with historical witnesses of this battle. The Soc Son district’s Youth Union held a gala night themed: “ Glorious Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air victory” to show the young’s gratitude to Vietnamese soldiers who made the Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu battle success. On Wednesday, leaders of the Party, State and Hanoi held a ceremony to commemorate those who were killed in B-52 carpet bombing at Kham Thien Memorial.
