(VOVworld) – The Command for Aviation Emergency of Ho Chi Minh city and Vietnam Airlines on Saturday organized an anti-terror air simulation exercise at Tan San Nhat international airport.

The exercise, the largest of kind so far in accordance with international aviation practice, involved more than 1,000 people and special equipment. The assumed scenario was that a group of terrorists opened and fire and arrested passengers for hostages to rescue their accomplices at the airport. Senior lieutenant colonel Nguyen Sy Quang of the Command for Aviation Emergency said: “44 international airlines which are operating at Tan Son Nhat airport took part in the exercise. We have proved to them our ability to safeguard security and order in Ho Chi Minh city”.

Everyday, Tan San Nhat international airport receives more than 400 take-offs and landings with tens of thousands of passengers onboard.
