(VOVworld) – A workshop was held in Hanoi on Tuesday to contribute opinions to a project to boost communications in ethnic, mountain, border, and island areas over the next 5 years. Delegates said that advocacy in these areas is an important political task, which will help to ensure national defense and security, boost socio-economic development, preserve ethnic cultures, eliminate backward practices, build new rural areas, and implement the UN Millennium Development Goal on poverty reduction.

A representative from the Ministry of Justice said the project should clarify communication methods to suit each locality.
