(VOVworld) – A conference on the current status and future prospects for cooperation between Vietnam-ASEAN and Russia will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 15-16. More than 100 delegates are expected to attend the event including Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh.

The conference will devise breakthrough measures to boost the relationship between Vietnam, ASEAN, and Russia and review ASEAN-Russian cooperation in maintaining peace, stability, and development in Asia-Pacific.
Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, spoke at a press conference on Thursday:
“The conference will comprise three discussions in Hanoi and 1 discussion in Quang Ninh. We will discuss economic and cultural issues as culture is considered the basis of society which guides other social relations to a certain extent.”
The conference will also look at achievements and shortcomings in education, science, and technology cooperation between ASEAN and Russia.
