(VOVworld) - A delegation of the Vietnam Ministry of National Defence led by Deputy Minister Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh arrived in Singapore on Thursday for the 12th Asia Security Summit or Shangri-la Dialogue. The Shangri-La Dialogue is the key forum for the discussion and analysis of defence and security issues in Asia and beyond. This year’s event is expected to bring together defence ministers, senior defence officials, and leading defence analysts from 27 countries in the Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe. Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will deliver a keynote speech at the summit at the invitation of the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) – the organiser of the event.  During his four-day stay, Vinh will attend the opening ceremony and plenary sessions and take part in PM Dung’s activities, including a meeting with Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong, a courtesy visit to President Tony Tan, and working sessions with several leading Singaporean business groups.  He is scheduled to make a speech at a plenary session on June 2, and meet with Defence Ministers and Deputy Defence Ministers of Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, France, Singapore, Brunei, Russia, and the Republic of Korea, and with the Commander of the US Pacific Command.
