At a seminar entitled "Vietnam's Economy in 2020 and prospects for 2021 – Reform, integration, and development" hosted by the Central Institute for Economic Management on Friday in Hanoi, economist Le Dang Doanh said, “The domestic market is not separate from outside, but must be connected with the foreign market. While the global market is facing difficulties and slow growth of exports are reported in the US and the EU, it is very important to make full use of the domestic market. It’s necessary to accelerate public investment, capitalize on private economic sector, and include small and medium-sized enterprises in the value chains to boost exports.”

In 2020, amid the pandemic, Vietnam recorded GDP growth of 2.91%.  It stabilized its macro-economy, kept inflation at a low level of 2.3%, and managed higher-quality growth with improved economic balances.
